Information leaflets

Broken bones also called as fractures can be managed in many ways. Certain fractures need an operation and others can be managed with plaster casts braces and other appliances. Even though X rays can diagnose many fractures some times X rays are not enough and other investigations such as MRI or CT scans should be done..

Ligament muscle and soft tissue injuries can cause many long-term effects and they too need to be managed correctly. Unfortunately, these are not clearly shown in X Rays and initial orthopaedic evaluation plays a key role in assessing and managing these.
